Larie and Mardel part 6

Mrs. Larie Grimes, Captain Mardel Shayron-Connor,
Posted on 202006.17
In the early morning, before the sun started to light the sky, Larie left her sleeping place and walked in the valley.  She stopped by her healing spot and looked at it, it was like a corner, hiding out of the way, pushed away. Shama’s healing spot was right in the middle of the clan, given a place of honor.

“You would have a place of honor with me, Larie.”  Mardel said softly, coming up behind Larie. She wrapped her arms around Larie’s waist and pulled her back against her chest and held her.  “Please, come, even if it’s just for a short visit, a few days.”

Larie looked over her shoulder at Mardel.  “For a short visit, Mardel, and only if you are with me.”  She agreed. She wanted to know what it was like to be honored, to be picked, to be noticed and not just for healing.  She then looked at the sky and wondered what it would be like.

Mardel nodded.  “Yes, Larie, I will be with you.  We will leave tomorrow and only for as long as you wish, I promise.”  She was just happy that Larie had agreed. She had a few male friends who had expressed an interest in someone Mardel could find for them, good men with good hearts who would protect Larie and give her honor and love, more than those on Orion would ever be able to.  “I’m glad you said yes, it makes my heart happy.”

With a nod, Larie wondered if she was going to regret saying yes, but she was curious enough to want to at least see it with her own eyes. She turned in Mardel’s arms and gave her a hug and kiss.  “I only hope I don’t disappoint you, Mardel.” She whispered.

Mardel moved back a little and held Larie’s face between her hands.  “You could never disappoint me, Larie, ever. Now go pack what you want to take with you.  As I said, we leave tomorrow. I will let Shama and Tabitha know I’m taking you with me.”

Larie nodded and left Mardel to gather the things she didn’t want to leave behind.  She also went to visit places in the jungle she would miss. She stopped by the weeping tree and looked at it.  “One day, I will be picked first under you.” She promised herself and then returned to the clans.
