Larie and Mardel - Finale |

| The following morning, the clans turned out to say goodbye to Mardel and Larie. Shama and Tabitha were the only two to give Larie and hug and kiss and wish her well. Everyone wanted to do that for Mardel. Then two of them left for Prime City and the shuttle waiting there for Mardel. Mardel was in her uniform and Larie in her furs. When they left the jungles, Larie kept a deathhold on Mardel’s hand. In the city, Larie stayed pressed against Mardel like glue and refused to look anywhere but Mardel’s back. Once in the shuttle, Larie cowed in the back of the shuttle while Mardel gave the crew orders on where to go. Then she came back to sit with Larie.
“Relax, Larie. This is Starfleet, no one here would even dream of harming you. They would have to deal with me as well as the rest of Starfleet Command. I have entered you into the database as my sister and a free woman of the Federation. Anyone trying to take you as a slave will have to deal with the entire Federation counsel.” Mardel explained to Larie, trying to get her to relax a little. Larie looked at Mardel. “Slavers can’t take me?” She asked fearfully, holding Mardel’s hand again. “They might try to, but the first time they tried to take you into any port in the Federation, they would be caught and you would be returned to me and they would be severely punished.” Mardel held Larie’s face again and looked into her eyes. “I promise you, Larie, you are safe.” Taking a shaky breath, Larie nodded. She looked around the shuttle and shivered. “It’s so cold and hard. Is it always this way?” Mardel laughed. “No, Larie. Together, I will show you wonders you could never have dreamed of. If you have any questions, ask and I will help explain it to you.” She patted her hand. “Never fear, my sister, I am here.” Larie just looked at Mardel and sighed. She rested her head against Mardel’s shoulder and fell asleep. When she woke, they were docking at the space station. Little did she know her greatest adventure was about to begin and she was about to meet someone who would completely change her life. | |
